Couples therapy

The goal of couples therapy is to help partners better understand themselves and each other. Sessions with a therapist aim to guide partners in deciding whether they should and want to make changes in their relationship and, if so, to help them modify its dynamics.

It is generally aimed at couples in crisis, but it can also help couples with minor communication problems or those suffering from repeated arguments. The methods used in couples therapy are varied. They can focus on different areas: the past, the present, and their vision of their future together.

Couples therapy helps to:

  • overcoming crises that can arise at different times in common life

  • learn to communicate with your spouse

  • improve your communication and negotiation skills with your partner

  • better understand your couple relationship

  • develop more appropriate attitudes

  • develop a real romantic intimacy

  • overcoming the fear of commitment

  • increase tenderness

  • accepting the differences of others

  • to establish harmonious relationships between children, teenagers and parents

  • start a family

Couple therapy allows partners to address and discuss their relationship difficulties in a setting that promotes the expression of their needs and feelings.
